The work

Made to measure, finished by hand

I have been contracting David for approximately 8 years on home renovations including bathroom refit, painting, decorating, flooring, garden, carpentry and more. Not only is David's work of a high standard, he goes above and beyond for me and my family, always making the time to fit us into his busy schedule. I trust David implicitly and will continue to use his services for years to come.

We are currently working with David on lots of home improvements: painting, built in wardrobes, cupboards and much more. He has been a complete delight to work with. He is a lovely gentleman who takes a real pride in his work and everything is possible! His attention to detail is amazing and he runs his business extremely well with regular updates on his process and costings for the project.

A few years ago I looked up Gumtree for a reliable skilled handyman. I came across David and saw photos of some of his work on the site. Ever since David has done various jobs of painting, decorating, building wardrobe, a summerhouse, etc for us. I always felt confident and reassured that he will do an excellent job and more importantly trusted him to come and go even when I was at work and felt assured all was in good hands and that is priceless.

We have worked with David for many years. He was recommended by a friend and we have subsequently recommended him to many of our friends. David has done carpentry for us (built us an integrated wine rack and wrap around bookshelves that go all around our lounge) and has also painted our whole house inside and outside. David will give you a quote instantly and stick to it. Work is always done on time and he really looks after your home.

Client, family home

The term 'Handyman' does not really reflect the work David does. He has been my go-to person since I found him about 8 years ago. He is the ultimate professional who takes pride in his work. He arrives on time, assesses the work and gets on with it. I call him to do all my repairs and decorating whether indoors or outdoors. The one time I called someone else to do something for me, I had to call Dave to repair the botched job. He is so precise in what he does and very tidy afterwards.

Client, long-standing

David tiled our front porch, kitchen and bathroom to a high standard. He also painted several rooms and wooden floors giving a much needed upgrade to our flat. He is hardworking, friendly and offers great advice on maintaining your property. I highly recommend his services!

Client, flat owner

Very very pleased to recommend David. He has done all sorts of work for us at two different locations, including panelling, coving, painting, repairs, shelving, tiling etc. It's brilliant knowing I can totally trust him, the work standard is excellent, and he's so flexible with such a proactive and positive attitude.

Client, two properties

We were first introduced to David when he painted the inside and outside of our whole house. He then designed and made glazed fire doors which have been admired many times by friends and neighbours.

Client, whole house

When I was let down by a painting firm, David came to my rescue and painted the outside of my house. He took a lot of care in preparing the woodwork and damaged plasterwork and did a wonderful job in painting. Although he was busy, he put himself out to help me.

Client, exterior repaint

A friend of ours introduced us to David as I was looking for a painter. He not only painted our entire house, he also replaced all of our doors. Very reliable, attention to detail and value for money.

Client, painting and doors

I have relied on David as our building's handyman for 10 years. He works to the highest standard and has my complete trust. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Client, building manager

David came highly recommended to me through a colleague. He told me he was so busy I would have to wait 2 months and that I might want to find someone else. I didn't want to, so I did wait. And I am so delighted that I did. Friendly, hard working, thoughtful, no job too big or too small, made recommendations to improve bits and bobs around my home - my little flat looked perfect at the end.

Client, small flat

We've been using David's services for the past three years, and he has been nothing short of exceptional. He's incredibly fast and efficient, and everything he's worked on has stood the test of time. David is always honest about what he can and can't do, which we truly appreciate. When I was pregnant, he even went above and beyond, working weekends to ensure everything was completed before the baby arrived.

Client, young family

He trained as an engineer and the precision in his jobs is evident. As well as this he is a delightful person to have in your home and always cleans up after his work. He is highly recommended and a true gem.

Client, family home

David redecorated my house and did loads of little jobs like repairing and repainting my French windows and building some planters and removing a huge fitted wardrobe from second floor before I moved. No one else was interested in doing small, bitty jobs like these, so I was SO grateful to have him recommended by a friend. I live in Suffolk now and still haven't found anyone to replace his high quality workmanship, flexibility and attention to detail.

Client, moved to Suffolk

David is not only a meticulous and highly skilled workman, he is also thoughtful of the family he is working for, going that little bit extra or understanding needs. Sometimes he will re-work a project better than I could have instructed. He has worked at different properties over the years and always with a good result.

Client, family home

I have known David for many years and I do recommend him. He is honest and true to his timeline. He saved me by building a ramp for my disabled brother to have access to the garden.

Client, garden access

David has been a trusted professional for over 10 years when it comes to a whole range of fixes be it painting, carpentry or even when something just needs to be fixed. He has pride in his work and attention to detail so always delivers the highest standard. He is trustworthy and always tries to accommodate even when I am disorganised and last minute.

Client, over 10 years

David has worked with us for many years on all of the work we have needed done in the house. He is reliable and honest. In an emergency he has always come swiftly to our aid. David is great with our dogs and conscientious with making sure doors are shut. We trust him 100%.

Client, family home

David was recommended to me by a neighbour. He decorated our whole house to a high standard. He was always professional, trustworthy and accommodating. He is much in demand!

Client, recommended by a neighbour

David is efficient and hard-working. He shows intricate attention to detail. He is trustworthy and reliable. Of all his great qualities, the best may be his innovation in problem-solving. I always contact David first when I need help.

Client

We have known David for over twenty years and have used him on several projects. We have always been very happy with his work and have found him a very responsible and considerate man to work with.

About

An engineer's precision, a craftsman's care

I trained as an engineer and have worked in West London homes since 2005: decorating hundreds of rooms, building furniture into alcoves and under stairs, and fixing whatever needs fixing.

Most of my work comes from recommendations, and many clients let me get on with the job while they are at work or away. That trust matters more to me than anything else.

Questions

Before you call

Which areas of London do you cover?

West London (Ealing, Acton, Shepherds Bush, Chiswick, Hammersmith) and South West London (Fulham, Battersea, Wandsworth, Clapham, Richmond, Twickenham, Kingston), plus the neighbourhoods around them. North London occasionally. I do not usually work in central London.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. Many of my regular clients started with one small job. If you have a list, I can usually get through it in one visit.

How do I get a quote?

Send photos and rough measurements on WhatsApp to 07886 556323, call, or use the form. For bigger jobs I come and measure up first. Quotes are free and I stick to them.

Are you a handyman or a carpenter?

Both, and a painter and decorator too. Most of my work is bespoke carpentry (alcove units, wardrobes, bookcases, panelling, doors) and decorating, but I also do all the repairs a home needs.
