Hi, I'm David
I have worked in West London homes since 2005, as a carpenter, a painter and decorator and the person clients call when something needs fixing. Power Handyman Ltd is my company.
21 years in London homes
I trained as an engineer, and that is still how I work: measure twice, plan the job and do it precisely. Since 2005 I have decorated and refurbished many hundreds of homes and rooms in West London, as well as shops and offices.
Over the years more of my work has become bespoke carpentry: alcove units, bookcases, fitted wardrobes, media walls, panelling and handmade doors. Because I am also a decorator, I can build it and paint it, so the job is finished by one person.
Most of my work comes from recommendations. Some clients have called me for 8, 10 or even 20 years, and many have passed my number to friends, neighbours and family. I would rather keep them happy than take on more than I can do well.
How I work
A price you can rely on
You get a clear quote before the work starts, and that is the price. Clients mention it more than anything else.
Precision
I trained as an engineer. Units are scribed to the wall, panels set out evenly, and edges filled and painted so the joints disappear.
Respect for your home
Floors and furniture protected, rooms cleaned at the end of each day, doors shut behind me and pets kept in.
Honest advice
I tell you straight what I can and cannot do, and when a repair makes more sense than something new.
What I do
We have worked with David for many years. He was recommended by a friend and we have subsequently recommended him to many of our friends. David has done carpentry for us (built us an integrated wine rack and wrap around bookshelves that go all around our lounge) and has also painted our whole house inside and outside. David will give you a quote instantly and stick to it. Work is always done on time and he really looks after your home.
We've been using David's services for the past three years, and he has been nothing short of exceptional. He's incredibly fast and efficient, and everything he's worked on has stood the test of time. David is always honest about what he can and can't do, which we truly appreciate. When I was pregnant, he even went above and beyond, working weekends to ensure everything was completed before the baby arrived.
He trained as an engineer and the precision in his jobs is evident. As well as this he is a delightful person to have in your home and always cleans up after his work. He is highly recommended and a true gem.
